What is the American Railroad Centre in the UK ?
It is not possible to see, in the UK, contemporary (or near contemporary) American railroad equipment, in operation. This organisation seeks to fill that void.
It is incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee (in US terms, a not-for-profit Corporation) called :-
The American Railroad Centre (UK) Ltd
Its aim is to acquire a representative collection of American (US, Canadian and Mexican) motive power, rolling stock and artifacts and operate it as a typical US short line.
It intends to underpin this activity by the operation of a branch line moving, largely intermodal, traffic from a small modern terminal. The motive power will be the drawn from the Centre's collection of locomotives.
